
Garhphuljhar Nanaksagar to become a major centre of faith and tourism: Chief Minister Shri Sai
Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday attended the Hola Mohalla programme organised at Nanaksagar in the historic and sacred Garhphuljhar area of Basna in Mahasamund district.
Chief Minister paid obeisance before the holy Guru Granth Sahib and participated in the rituals and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the people of the state. On the occasion, members of the Sikh community honoured him with a ‘saropa’ as a mark of respect.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “The sacred land of Garhphuljhar, home to Nanaksagar, is a centre of deep faith and reverence as the holy Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who had visited the place. Chhattisgarh has long been a land of saints where many great spiritual leaders have spread the message of humanity, service and harmony and visiting sacred sites gives sense of spiritual contentment,” said Shri Sai.
Shri Sai said the state government is committed to the preservation and proper development of all major pilgrimage sites in the state. Hence, Garhphuljhar has already been announced for development as a tourist destination. An amount of around Rs 2.50 crore has been sanctioned for the development works and construction is underway. He directed officials to complete the works at the earliest and expand tourism facilities in the Nanaksagar area so that it becomes a major attraction for devotees from the state and across the country.
Basna MLA Shri Sampat Agrawal, in his address, said the Sikh community has always moved forward with the spirit of unity, service and social harmony. He said Garhphuljhar is not only a centre of faith for the Sikh community but also a living example of communal harmony and mutual respect among all religions.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Basna MLA Shri Sampat Agrawal, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Seed Corporation Shri Chandrahas Chandrakar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency Shri Bhupendra Singh Savanni, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission Shri Amarjeet Chhabra, along with several prominent members of the Sikh community and a large number of devotees, were present on the occasion.
