Metro train operation will start between Indore-Ujjain – Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister has a discussion with Union Railway Minister Shri Vaishnav

Traffic plans will be implemented for big cities of the state with the consent of public representatives

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that according the need of a new traffic plan for the big cities of the state, the state government is going to take important steps. The most important step in this direction includes the decision to operate the metro train between Indore and Ujjain, which will also be useful in terms of transportation facilities for the devotees in Simhastha 2028. The report of the feasibility survey related to running the metro between Indore-Ujjain has been received. In the coming time, the Vande Metro facility from Indore Airport to Mahakal Temple will be an important gift for the people of the state and the tourists and devotees coming from India and abroad. Different cities will be able to connect in a better way. Information given in review meeting that the work of preparing the metro line from AIIMS to Karond intersection in Bhopal with a total length of 16.74 kilometers will be completed in three phases. The first phase is seven kilometers, which includes 8 stations (elevated). On the progress of Indore Metro, it was informed that work is being done on a total of 31.32 kilometers. A total of 28 stations will be built in Indore.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, after reviewing the progress of the metro project of Bhopal and Indore in a meeting held at Samatva Bhawan located in the Chief Minister’s residence office on Saturday, said that for easy transportation, big cities of the state like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain along with the metro, Vande Metro, rope-way, electric-bus and cable-car will be used. Given the upcoming requirements, necessary arrangements will be made by taking the local public representatives into confidence. On the use of transport options, necessary decisions will also be considered and taken for the Ujjain to Omkareshwar route, Bhopal to Indore, Jabalpur to Gwalior.

Vande Metro Circle train will be operated

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that as per a recent discussion with Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, it has been agreed upon to run the Vande Metro in place of the old metro for various cities in Madhya Pradesh. Vande Metro Circle Train will be a great gift for the citizens. In cities where traffic pressure is increasing, it has been agreed to start the facility of circle trains for integrated planning of metro train operations. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also had discussions with the Railway Minister regarding the operation of Vande Metro, which runs faster than the metro train, the use of modern technology, and benefiting industrial areas like Pithampur-Dewas. Regarding the use of narrow-gauge and other rail lines available in some cities of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that its survey and study should be completed so that the rail tracks that are currently not in use can be used.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri, Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary of Chief Minister’s Office Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Principal Secretary Urban Development and House Shri Neeraj Mandloi and officials of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited were present.

Progress of the Bhopal Metro Rail Project

Metro train operation in Bhopal has also been tested in October. A total of 16 stations will be built in the Orange Line, of which 14 will be elevated and 02 will be underground. In the second phase, a total of 14 elevated stations will be built from the Bhadbhada intersection to Ratnagiri Tiraha length of 14.21 km (Blue Line). The third phase includes work of 9.74 kilometers from Subhash Nagar to Karond intersection. Subhash Nagar has a joint metro rail depot and Pul Bogda, an interchange station between the two lines. Civil work and system work is in progress in the first phase. Contracts for civil work in the second phase are being signed soon, while contracts related to elevated and underground work in the third phase have been concluded. In the first phase, commercial operation of the metro train will start in the coming months. The work of the second and third phases will be completed in the year 2027 from the point of view of commercial operation.

Passengers will get facilities in the metro train

The metro station will have many public facilities including baggage check, passenger security check, drinking water, washroom, first aid, wheelchair, stretcher, manual call point, fire fighting equipment, lift, escalator, platform screen door, passenger route map, passenger information system, emergency stop plunger, emergency trip system, emergency help button, and waiting bench. Similarly, other facilities available in the train include air conditioning, grab poles and grab handles, seating arrangement, guides, passenger announcements, cameras and mobile charging points, an emergency communication system, emergency exit doors, and smoke/fire detection. Special care will be taken of women and disabled people. There will also be a childcare room. Toilets for the differently abled people will have a call button, support staff, ramp from road to lift, touch path, and wheelchair facilities.
