MG Motor Dispatches Windsor EV to its Dealerships, Test Drive Begins

MG Motor’s Windsor EV, which started business in the country a few years ago, has become available at dealerships. Test drives for this electric crossover also started from Wednesday. Windsor EV was launched earlier this month. Its starting price is Rs 9.99 lakh with the option of battery subscription. Apart from this, customers will have to pay a cost of Rs 3.5 per kilometer.

Windsor EV can also be purchased without battery subscription. Its prices are between Rs 13.49 to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Booking for this will start from October 3 and its delivery will be done from October 12. This crossover utility vehicle will have the comfort of a sedan and space like an SUV. Windsor EV has been made available in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. It will compete with Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV. Windsor EV has connected LED lights on both the front and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Its front has the MG logo below the connected LED DRL strip. It has a charging port on the front left fender. This electric crossover utility vehicle is available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black.

Its cabin has been designed keeping in mind the experience of both luxury and technology. It has black leatherette seats. Its flat bottom steering wheel is also wrapped in leatherette. The Windsor EV has a 15.6″ touchscreen on its dashboard. Along with this, an 8.8 inch digital display has been provided for the driver.

It also has features like automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, powered driver seat and panoramic glass roof. Its 38 kWh battery can generate 136 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Its range on a single charge is approximately 331 kilometers. Initial customers of Windsor EV will get full warranty on the battery. MG Motor has started the option of battery rental to make its EV affordable. Due to this, the starting price of the company’s lowest priced electric car Comet EV has reduced to Rs 4.99 lakh. With this, customers will have to pay a cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometer.
