Nothing on Tuesday, September 24 launched its first open wearable stereo (OWS), Ear (open), which features 14.2 mm dynamic drivers with titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate diaphragms in India and other global markets. Ear (Open) Nothings come equipped with Open Sound technology, which allows users to focus on their surroundings, creating a more immersive audio experience. It has Bluetooth 5.3 version and supports AAC and SBC codecs along with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Nothing Earbuds Come with pinch controls, ChatGPT integration, and dual device connection. They are rated IP54 for water protection.

Nothing Ear (open) Open Wearable Stereo is priced at Rs 17,999. Its pre-order Are open and will be available for purchase in the global market from October 1. At present the company has not announced its exact availability in India. It is expected that these will be available in India also from October 1. These have been launched only in white color.

The price of Nothing Ear (open) is higher in India as compared to the global market. For comparison, let us tell you that they have been launched in America for 149 dollars (about Rs 12,500), in Europe for 149 euros (about Rs 13,900) and in the UK for about 129 pounds (about Rs 14,500).

The Nothing Ear (open) features a custom patent-pending diaphragm. They have titanium coating and the company also says that ultra-light drivers have been used in them. These can be worn behind the ear with a cable similar to a hook similar to sports earphones, making them a better option for sports activities.

The Ear (Open) includes an automatic bass enhance algorithm and a 120ms low lag mode for gaming, which are automatically enabled depending on the circumstances on Nothing devices. Whereas for other devices, they can be enabled manually through the app. For noise-free calls, the company has claimed to provide clear voice technology, in which three microphones have been included with advanced wind noise resistance technology. The earbuds are compatible with Android 5.0 and iOS 13 or later.

Nothing Ear (open) There are pinch controls on the earbuds, which let users manage playback, skip tracks, answer calls, and switch between ANC or Transparency mode. They can also be used to launch the virtual assistant or adjust the volume. With an advanced equalizer and profile-sharing feature, users can further customize their sound preferences.

It’s lightweight at just 8.1 grams per earbud, while the charging case weighs 63.8 grams. The fast-charging feature claims to provide 2 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charge. Both the Nothing Ear (open) earbuds and case are IP54 rated, making them suitable for workouts and light rain.
