MG Motor Reveals Price Range of Windsor EV, Rs 13.50 Lakh Starting Price With Fixed Battery

Sales of Electric Vehicles (EV) have increased rapidly in the last few years. Recently MG Motor launched Windsor EV in this segment. The company has given information about its price range. Its prices are approximately between Rs 13.50 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its ex-showroom price includes the cost of battery. For this reason, the price of the base variant of Windsor EV is Rs 3.5 lakh more than the battery rental option. Buying it with battery retail option will cost around Rs 10 lakh. Along with this, battery rental of Rs 3.5 per kilometer will have to be paid.

This crossover utility vehicle will provide the comfort of a sedan and space like an SUV. Windsor EV has been made available in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. It will compete with Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV. MG Motor has started the option of battery rental to make its EV affordable. Due to this, the starting price of the company’s lowest priced electric car Comet EV has reduced to Rs 4.99 lakh. For this, customers will have to pay a price of Rs 2.5 per kilometer.

Windsor EV has connected LED lights on both the front and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Its front has the MG logo below the connected LED DRL strip. It has a charging port on the front left fender. This electric crossover utility vehicle is available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black. Its cabin has been designed keeping in mind the experience of both luxury and technology. It has been given black leatherette seats. Its flat bottom steering wheel is also wrapped in leatherette. Bookings for Windsor EV will start from October 3 and deliveries will start from October 12. Reclining seats are provided in its rear. The Windsor EV has a 15.6″ touchscreen on its dashboard. Along with this, an 8.8 inch digital display has been provided for the driver.

It also has features like automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, powered driver seat and panoramic glass roof. Its 38 kWh battery generates 136 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Its range on a single charge is approximately 331 kilometers. Initial customers of Windsor EV will get full warranty on the battery.
