It is being told that the video of cryptocurrency named ‘XRP’ was made live on the channel. There has been no response from the Supreme Court officials in the matter yet. The incident came to light on Friday morning. According to the information, the IT team of the Supreme Court has sought help from the government agency NIC to deal with the matter.
This is not the first case of hacking YouTube channels. Hackers have targeted celebrities around the world before. Institutions have been targeted.
Frauds related to the cryptocurrency whose advertisement was shown on the Supreme Court’s YouTube channel have increased rapidly in recent times. According to a report by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), fraud cases related to cryptocurrencies have increased by about 45 percent last year. Due to these frauds, traders had to suffer a loss of more than $ 5.6 billion (approximately Rs 47,029 crore).
This report states that about 10 percent of the total complaints of financial fraud were related to cryptocurrency. FBI Director of Criminal Investigation, Michael Nordwall said in this report, “As the share of cryptocurrencies in the international financial system has increased, criminals have also increased their use.”
