Delhi High Court Orders Ministry of Communications to remove Scam Sites Impersonating Crypto Firm Mudrex

The segment of cryptocurrencies has grown rapidly in the last few years. The cases of scams related to this segment are also increasing. Delhi High Court has ordered the Ministry of Communications to remove 38 websites imitating a crypto firm. Last week, crypto firm Mudrex had filed a petition in the High Court demanding action against fake websites. Mudrex users had informed about being scammed through these websites.

In the order published on the portal of Delhi High Court on August 23, Justice Mini Pushkarna asked the Ministry of Communications to websites Has been asked to be removed by 30th August. Gadgets360 has asked the Ministry of Communications whether it has any plan to stop the problem of fake websites on popular internet search engines like Google. A reply is awaited from the ministry in this regard.

Mudrex had given evidence of fake websites using its name and other marks to trap users. It was told in this petition that Mudrex has received many complaints from people who were victims of these scams. These websites were also offering employment opportunities. In this petition it was said that many customers have become victims of these fake websites and have suffered huge losses. Important data like Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank statements were also collected from these customers. Mudrex’s reputation has also been damaged by this.

In this petition, a list of 38 fake websites was given which were using the trademark of Mudrex. After receiving information about such scams, Mudrex had issued an advisory through its handles on LinkedIn, Instagram and X. Along with this, the firm had sent an email to its users asking them to be cautious about fake websites using its trademarks and other marks. Binance, one of the major crypto exchanges, recently reported in a report that it has succeeded in preventing a loss of approximately $ 2.4 billion between January and July this year.
