People in Delhi to receive traffic challans on WhatsApp
The process of sending traffic challan on WhatsApp may start soon in Delhi. In view of the increasing traffic burden in Delhi and the violation of rules, orders have been given by the Governor that traffic challans will be sent to the people of Delhi on the messenger app. PTI According to, LG Saxena has taken such a step in view of illegal parking on roadsides, flyovers etc. in Delhi.
During a meeting, LG said that illegal parking of vehicles is seen at many places in Delhi. Buses are parked on the flyover. This causes trouble to other people, and the smoke coming out of the vehicle further increases pollution. LG said during the meeting that the traffic police should ensure that rules are followed on the roads. For this, traffic police officers should be deployed and a joint team should be formed by the department. It should be ensured that commercial vehicles do not run overloaded on the roads, and passenger buses are not filled with more passengers than their capacity.
The purpose behind starting traffic challan on Whatsapp is that the person who is challaned can get the information about it as soon as possible, that is, the challan should reach those who violate the rules with immediate effect. This will also facilitate the challan recipient to pay the challan. He will be able to pay the challan from anywhere, at any time. This will also bring awareness and responsibility among the people towards traffic rules. Now it remains to be seen what impact this new initiative has on the residents of Delhi and the traffic conditions here.
