The recently launched Redmi Pad Se 4g also makes a bet in the affordable tab category. Its compact style makes the Tab a good option for online studying. Redmi Pad Se 4g comes in the price category of Rs 10 to 12 thousand. We’re judging it as an affordable tab. Redmi Pad Se 4g follows a simple design. On the back side, apart from the rounded camera module on the top left and the Redmi branding just below it at the bottom, no attempt has been made to do any ‘art’. I liked this because in Tab, productivity is more important than style.

The weight of Redmi Pad Se 4g, which comes in matte finish, is 375 grams. It is not very heavy. My 6 year old daughter is able to hold and use this tab well. All four corners of the tab are rounded, making it easy to carry.

Power button and volume rocker are provided on the right side of the tab. His positioning was comfortable for me and my daughter. A SIM tray is provided on the left side, in which two 4G SIMs and a 2TB SD card can be inserted. Speaker grills are on both the bottom and top sides and support Dolby Atmos sound. Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a microphone are provided at the bottom. IR Blaster is also included in it, so that the tab can be used as a universal remote.

Talking about the front side, the display of Redmi Pad Se 4g seems slightly smaller than its overall size. The display chin also felt thick. However, the front camera is installed in the same space at the top. Overall, in terms of design and looks, it justifies its price.

Redmi Pad Se 4g has an 8.7-inch LCD display. It offers HD resolution of 1340 X 800 pixels. The display also has a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. This display may seem low for those who want FullHD resolution, but it is good for students because it is TUV Rhineland certified. This means that the display, based on software, generates less blue light, which causes less harm to the eyes. To protect the display from scratches, scratch resistant glass has also been used in it.

I streamed online videos, read websites and even e-papers in this tab for some time. Color-contrast seemed balanced. Since I am using a Full HD+ smartphone with an AMOLED display, this display looked pale in comparison. But at the price it is, it is good. Especially during online studies, there is hardly any defect in the display.

MediaTek’s Helio G85 processor has been installed in Redmi Pad Se 4g. The review unit we received has 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. In the first one or two days, I found its performance fine. I downloaded some apps, which were opening fast. There were 7 to 8 browsers open in Google Chrome and the tabs were performing fine. We will talk about its performance in detail in the review.

Redmi Pad Se 4g has 8 MP rear and 5 MP front camera. The rear camera can record videos in 1080P. I am not expecting photography from this tab, but it must be tested in video calls. Redmi Pad Se 4g has a 6650mAh battery. It supports 10W charging. If the battery was 8 thousand mAh, it would have been better, but I have no complaint with 6650 mAh, because it lasts for a day in initial use. Although the charger must have been 18W. Talking about other features, it comes with accelerometer, virtual light sensor, virtual proximity sensor, electronic compass, hall sensor. GPS/ AGPS, Beidou, Glonass, Galelio is supported. It does not have a fingerprint sensor, but the facility of face unlock is available.
