What is 9-Day Air Defense System

armyrecognition Report According to ISRO, 9-Dey is a surface-to-air missile system. It has been specially designed to counter those cruise missiles, drones, fighter jets, helicopters and enemy aircraft which fly at low altitudes. This system was first unveiled on 21 May 2021.

The power of 9-Day was seen in 2023

9-Dey’s capability was first demonstrated in an exercise named ‘Defenders of the Sky of Velayat 2023’. During that time, this system had intercepted and eliminated many targets. Since then it was believed that it is capable of dealing with aerial threats.

Which targets does it destroy?

9-Dey is a short range air defense missile system. It helps in dealing with enemy weapons flying at low altitude. Its effective range is 5 to 30 kilometers. It can destroy enemy missiles by flying up to 20 kilometers.

9-Dey has been designed on the basis of Iran’s Sevom Khordad Long Range High Altitude Missile System, that is, the philosophy of both is the same. The only difference is in their working. One is effective at long range, while the 9-Dey deals with threats flying at low altitudes. With this missile system, 8 missiles can be fired simultaneously at a time.
