A 44-year-old woman from Noida lost Rs 27 lakh in online e-SIM activation. The woman lives in Sector 82 of Noida and lodged a complaint with the police regarding theft of Rs 27 lakh from her bank account. The woman shared a verification code she received over the phone. After this the woman’s phone number was deactivated. The next day the woman did not receive any eSIM. He then called the customer service department of the telecom company. The woman was advised to visit the nearest store. From there the woman was given a new SIM card. As soon as she activated it, the woman received many messages regarding withdrawal of Rs 27 lakh from her account.
